CINEMA DA GENTE
Cinema da Gente is a project with the social aim of creating opportunities for free access to cinema for disadvantaged communities, namely eight underprivileged communities in Rio de Janeiro.
Through training workshops and the exhibition of feature and short films, Cinema da Gente contributed to a sense of place and self-esteem of a social class forgotten by cultural initiatives.
Knowing the challenges faced by those living in the poorest areas in Brazil to access art and culture, and knowing the transformational power of these tools, Cinema da Gente fulfills a fundamental role: enabling the public to recognize themselves through the cinema, discovering their value as citizens within the history of the country.
