The Cine Fest Brasil - Montevideo takes place at Life Cinemas, exclusively showcasing unreleased Brazilian films in Uruguay with the participation of the selected films’ representatives, business round tables, and the awards ceremony.

It is an important platform for the promotion of the Brazilian audiovisual industry, which attracts new audiences for Brazilian cinematography, and fosters partnership opportunities between the Brazilian audiovisual sector and the Uruguayan market, as well as with other countries in Latin America.

In its 8 years of existence, the Festival has showcased hundreds of films, took Brazilian professionals (producers, actors, directors) to Uruguay, and conducted market activities such as business roundtables, pitching panels, debates, and workshops, thus providing new business opportunities during the Festival.

During this journey, we have garnered the interest of local audiences in discovering Brazilian cinema.  Today, 90 % of the audience in attendance is Uruguayan, and all screenings are full.  The Festival has also been responsible for the development of co-productions between both countries, as well as the distribution of Brazilian films in Uruguay.
