SYNOPSIS
HIGH ESTEEM is a documentary/reality series focused on salvaging the self-esteem of those who need a little hand in becoming the best versions of themselves. In each episode, a participant with concerns related to their appearance, and the traumas that come with it, will be accompanied by the HIGH ESTEEM team in a process that seeks the balance between appearance and well-being. Two renowned plastic surgeons, Dr. Gabriel Basílio and Dr. Alessandro Martins, who are also a fun couple, the psychologist Cíntia Aleixo, and psychoanalyst Manuela Xavier, will alternate in pairs to help the participants recover their self-esteem, and make peace with their image in the mirror.
EPISODES
01 - JOANA SERAFIM
In the opening episode of HIGH ESTEEM, we meet Joana, a vibrant woman with an open smile and a hearty laugh. However, what hides behind all this energy is a person who carries pain and structural trauma. Psychologist Cintia Aleixo and Doctor Gabriel Basílio come together to give Joana back the self-esteem she deserves!
02 – FELIPE COSTA
Who says men don’t also have their aesthetic expectations? In this episode, bodybuilder Felipe is our protagonist. Manu and Alessandro will accompany this young man who from a scrawny teenager became a competitive bodybuilder! However, his misuse of steroids turned out to be a nightmare that shook his self-esteem and physique.
03 – CAROL FIRMO
A young mother who needs to take care of herself again. In this episode, our couple of surgeons will work together to fulfill one of Carol Firmo's biggest dreams: a rhinoplasty to fix her nose that has always been a source of embarrassment. At the same time, Manu helps Carol rediscover her self-esteem lost between diapers and baby bottles.
04 – VERÓNICA VALENTTINO
Verónica, from Ceará, is the protagonist of this episode. Actress, singer and full of personality, she proudly calls herself a "transvestite" and has always dreamed of getting silicone implants. It is going to be Dr. Alessandro, in a dynamic duo with Manu Xavier, who will accompany her in this fundamental process for the affirmation of her social persona and self-esteem.
05 – YARA ARMINDO
Yara Armindo is Angolan, an educator who dreams of developing social projects. However, her anxiety crises have become an obstacle in this pursuit as well as causing her to lose too much weight. Now, Dr. Gabriel and psychologist Cintia Aleixo have the mission of assisting her in regaining her self-esteem. Yara wants to find peace within herself again.
06 – CAROLINE RIGONI
Manu and Alessandro will accompany a young woman from Rio de Janeiro full of energy and dreams who, however, sees her body as a major impediment. Caroline Rigoni is a 23-year-old blogger who has many concerns regarding concentrated fat on her flanks and culottes. She dreams of getting a tummy tuck, but also knows that she needs to strengthen her mental health, and stop being so demanding of herself.
07 – NICOLE MARTINELLI
A team follows the trajectory of a very special person: Nicole Martinelli. Nic is a 33-year-old photographer and businesswoman who lives in Espírito Santo. Married to Lidiane, with whom she has dated since she was a teenager - when she still presented herself socially under a different gender identity. Together, they have a 7-year-old son. Nic transitioned and they moved on together through a lot of love and therapy. Now she wants to complete this process by having the long-awaited breast implants. Cintia and Gabriel will accompany her in this exciting process.
08 - REUNION
In the last episode of the season, the HIGH ESTEEM team gets together to reminisce about the journey of all the participants, in a unique and very special get together.
